I'm training in particular for a cycle challenge across Europe upto what % gradient does the unit simulate and is this displayed directly
Or do I have to interprit the power levels for climb gradients
If there is a better trainer what would you recomend.

Using the Elite trainer app you can create route maps that simulate gradients on the route. These are from what I can figure from usage not exactly as the actual route but I suspect averaged although the % climb does vary on hills. I have found no limit to the % as a route over Honister has shown. It translates this on the trainer to an increase in power needed to keep moving. Whether this is accurate I have no meansof telling but it is certainly tough. Obviously being a trainer you have to pedal downhill and compete against the resistance of the trainer even when it shows 0 power.
