Cateye Volt 700 RC Front
The Volt 700 delivers a massive 800 lumen pulse on daytime flash mode and happily runs at a constant 700 lumen output for 2 hrs. The neat battery is safely interchangeable if you need to extend the run time.

"This light was a replacement for a Moon that fell apart, the USB charge port fell out after 13 months use, quite a lot of that in summer! Excellent for lit roads on 2nd highest setting andf good on unlit at highest. The pulse/permanent light setting is great for getting you noticed. The bar fixing bracket is more flexible for various bars than the Moon as well. Although the Moon did have a better light spread."

To alleviate poor shifting and uneven train wear, most manufacturers recommend chain replacement at or before 1 percent stretch.

"I use the yellow cleat as the float is more limited and I find it easier to clip out of. I have a hip replacement, right leg, and it places less strain on the joint. Its best not to twist a hip replacement too much! There is still some float and I have not found my knees giving me problems over the past 2 years.
The cleat itself is hard wearing, there is still plenty of weqar to go before I need a replacement. Bought a spare pair as price was good."

"I've been using these bibtights in the recent cold spells in the North West with my Garmin recording -1 C and feeling as warm as needed after the intitial 1/2 mile. The windstopper fabric make them a little harder to get on than normal Sorpasso bibtights but they are comfy and keep muscles supported and toasty.
Great refklective Castelli logo on the sides. Together with a winter long sleeved base layer and Castelli Espresso 2 jacket its all I've been needing."

With the polypropylene inner layer, nylon outer layer and open mesh construction, this base layer was created to move moisture away from your skin as quickly as possible. Works great in warm conditions, or under a long-sleeve base layer to keep dry.

"Bought to replace an identical but crash damaged rear derailleur. The previous unit had given me over 2,000 miles of trouble free cycling with never a missed gear. Easy to set up, smooth and instant in operation. Expensive, yes, but works like a dream and I'm sure the cheaper Ultegra version is just as sweet."

"Using these in conjuction with my main Moon front and rear lights as a back up and extra lighting for drivers to see me, hopefully. Moon's set on constant these on flashing. Excellent little lights, lightweight, easily fixed and most importantly bright. I've had no issues in wet weather. Also useful as day-time lights when the weather gets murky. The rear would probably suffice on its own but the front is best only as an auxilary light."

Cycle paths and the Demon Dirt!

Will this be good enough to spot doggie door, on pitch black coastal cycle paths? Or should I go with the 1200? Thnx

I'm training in particular for a cycle challenge across Europe upto what % gradient does the unit simulate and is this displayed directly

Or do I have to interprit the power levels for climb gradients
If there is a better trainer what would you recomend.
Top 250 Contributor
Top 250 Contributor
Using the Elite trainer app you can create route maps that simulate gradients on the route. These are from what I can figure from usage not exactly as the actual route but I suspect averaged although the % climb does vary on hills. I have found no limit to the % as a route over Honister has shown. It translates this on the trainer to an increase in power needed to keep moving. Whether this is accurate I have no meansof telling but it is certainly tough. Obviously being a trainer you have to pedal downhill and compete against the resistance of the trainer even when it shows 0 power.
