Dustoff's Reviews

Especially for those who cycle all year round, in every kind of road and weather conditions, including pavé and heavy rain, Vittoria decided to improve one of its most traditional models, the "CG", and raise it to the EVO level.

"These are simply the rolls royce of all round tyres. If your looking to do a lot of miles. and not want to have a puncture. look no further. slightly wider at 24mm, could look a bit bulky to the connoisseur. Not really for doing a person best on your TT."
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Good Fit

"Only fault is its price. Does everything you need and more. With expandability of Ant+ and more money. The Online map utilities are just a valuable as the device. Explore and share maps and geek out with your stats. I've read some reviews of its lack of durability in wet environments. I bought a rubber protective case straight away and had no problems in heavy rain for over an hour."
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Versatile
Cons: Expensive

Speedplay pedals are incredibly lightweight thanks to intelligent engineering. The engagement mechanism is housed in the cleat, not the pedal, allowing you to have a double sided pedal with one mechanism (rather than one on each side of the pedal).

"These are great, take a bit of getting use to in the way you clip in (more vertical down than the look slide and down). And take care not to over tighten the cleat screws. I'd like more shoes to be available which would fit the 4 hole cleat, hence the 4 stars but this is not necessarily down to Speedplay. Using the 3 hole look adapter is no problem just an unfortunate needed layer on the cleat. Once your up and running the power transfer feels awesome. Very secure feeling. I've read some don't like the float. I've no problem with this and it is adjustable. They're light and have two sided entry like spd's. Very simple and sturdy in design."

ThermaShield Ti De Marchi's proprietary windproof technology is widely spread on garments which require protection from the elements. It's a 'sandwich' fabric made of three layers bonded together. The middle layer is a wind and waterproof stretch membrane made from ceramic nanospheres that have the ability to block wind and water on the outside and transport sweat from the skin through an anti-static action.

"Initially due to Wiggle sending me the wrong product, I had to go out and get some cheaper Pro H20 overshoes. Which are warm and waterproof for under £15.
In comparison the De Marchi are warmer, not as waterproof. But are a lot thinner.
My toes get cold after about 50 minutes in 0 degree temperatures. I might try them under the H20's for extreme cold weather which is a good point about their thinness.
Overall cheaper overshoes are not as warm and are more bulky and don't look as good, but you probably get more for your money.
These are expensive, warmer, thinner and don't look to bad."

"A cheap splashproof wind jacket. In heavy rain this isn't going to keep you dry. But is a sufficient outer layer for cold windy days with the occasional shower. Keeps that wind out so is surprisingly warm once you get going.
Can pack really small, and you get a little pouch to put it in. Small enough for the back pocket.
I don't know what you get if you were to spend more money on another product other than a fancy brand name."

"For the money you couldn't ask for more. I use these for a daily 20 mile round trip commute. No punctures on London pot hole roads. They are on the heavy side. But for a training or commute tire they are perfect. The Rubber compound is hard enough not to wear down too quick and soft enough to stick to the road. Easy enough to get on and off the rims and great on corners. would recommend. Oh and the colourways will make your bike look pretty special."

Dustoff's Questions

The Miche 1 inch threaded head set has a lightweight alloy cup.

can you confirm the Miche product code

I don't know why there would be a dust cap for a threaded headset (as seen in image). Can you confirm the product code against the Miche website

New Garmin Edge 900

Is this product approaching the end of its cycle? (no pun intended) I'm keen to buy but don't want to commit if the edge 805/900 is due for release.

Do these pedals come with cleats or do you have to buy them separately?

they comes with cleats, and the 3 hole adapter for 3 hole shoes.

Will the zero pedals fit with Shimano R132 shoes. Do I have to buy an adapter plate or will they fit

The pedals come with the 3 hole adapter, this adds a couple of mm to the height of the cleat but is no problem.

How much do the tires weigh!

I purchased the Vittoria Rubino 2010 and I would like to know the weight on the tires.
I don't know the exact weight, but if you're looking for a light tire these are probably not the ones for you. These make a great all year training tire.
