The Michelin Pro4 Service Course are for cyclists seeking a very high performance tyre whatever the circumstances. Faster and safer due to improved wet grip compared to Pro Race tyre.

"Switched to these originally on the grounds of cost, being a little cheaper than the Vittoria Open Corsas I'd managed to destroy the weekend before. Yet, after a couple of weeks riding, I'm convinced they're every bit as good as said Vittorias. They roll fast and grip well, yet feel sturdy and confidence-inspiring when the roads turn bad. I suspect a lot of this is due to the sheer volume of the things: nice 'n wide, and plenty of sidewall meaning lots of cushioning. Can't recommend these enough."
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality

"The best bit of kit I have, doing exactly as promised. So much so I wear them in my work boots, around the house, everywhere. Warm, soft, comfortable, hard-wearing and a very good fit. The hugh cuff ensures no gaps around you ankles, to.
Absolutely perfect, and worth every penny.

"...but little in the way of grip once things get slimy during autumn, despite running 'em at 85-95psi and riding to the conditions. Proceed carefully!"
Pros: Great Value, nice ride, good in the warm/dry

"...that's about it. I've used these before in 700x24 "Evo" trim as a winter tyre here in the UK, but never in their natural habitat i.e. Belgium and cobblestones.
I took these 700x25 versions to Flanders, running them at about 90psi, and they were utterly faultless. They NEVER slipped, even when honking up the dusty/muddy edges of the Koppenberg, Patterberg etc, and the ride, confidence etc over the faster cobbles was amazing. No punctures either, despite some questionable line choice from myself.
These may be expensive, but they were worth every penny, and if they can survive Flanders, they'll take anything the UK can throw at them.

"Whilst I seem to run a little hot, my hands are always the first to give out to the cold. These gloves are superb. In temperatures of around -2ºC before windchill my hands certainly felt "cool" for the first few minutes out of the house, but once accustomed and pedalling, that soon disappeared, with warm, toasty hands as promised.
Whilst thicker than normal long finger gloves, they're not horribly bulky, and the windstopper works very well indeed. Nice, long cuffs to so you get a nice overlap with jacket/jersey sleeves.
The only niggle is the amusingly large label and it's position within the cuff: it can get dragged into the glove and sits against your palm. Just a minor irritation that, I suspect, could be rectified with a pair of scissors..."

Schwalbe Ultremo DD Evolution Folding Road Tyre 2013
Schwalbe Ultremo DD Evolution Folding Road Tyre 2013
The top competition tyre with all around protection. As well as the V-Guard belt it is also protected by a complete SnakeSkin fabric. The additional protection works particularly well on the shoulders and side walls.

"Both of mine started to delaminate around the sidewall and then unthread themselves around both the bead and sidewall within a few hundred miles. Laughable, really. Shortly to be consigned to the bin. A shame as they rode OK (if a little "wooden" feeling), rolled fast and never punctured."

"Right up until the point a split and bulge appeared on the sidewall, these were great: grippy, nice feel/ride, plenty of volume (25mm), etc, etc. However, said split appeared after about 6 rides, so barely scrubbed in. They didn't hit any potholes nor were they run flat. A shame as they were rather nice..."
Pros: good grip, nice ride
Cons: Low Quality, fragile, badly made

"Very thin and lightweight, but keeps the wind out wonderfully. Whilst more breathable than other windproofs I've tried, I still found it to be a bit sweaty with big efforts. Soon helped by opening the zip slightly and easing off, though.
No vents, but then again any zips would just get in the way of what is a beautifully-fitting jacket. The fit is nice a tight too. Once in a riding position, theres no bunching, pinching etc, the sleeves are a perfect length to meet your gloves and the dropped back keeps the mud/spray off you."
Pros: High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: a bit sweaty

"Even with temperatures at -1º before windchill, I've never had cause to complain about the cold with these. They're great. Sizing is typically Castelli, so whereas I'm a small/medium with most other things, I wear these in large (5'7 with a 30 inch waist). The odd iffy thread/seam, but other than that, fine."
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: iffy stitching/qc?

"Coupled with thicker wool socks, these have kept my feet warm every time I've ventured out over winter, even with it being below freezing. Easy to pull on over normal summer riding shoes and well designed/made, with reinforcement around any holes, nice zip etc, etc.
Whilst they're not completely waterproof (both through the material, and the hole at the top/bottom!), they keep light showers and road spray off your feet nicely. And if/when your feet get wet, by keeping the wind out, they help your feet remain warm."
Pros: High Quality, Good Fit, work well

ElJimboGrande's Questions

Developed to provide top performance with minimal weight, the Extreme Tech Plus offers superb rider comfort thanks to the features of the shoe - Ultralight carbon sole, Northwave BioMap technology, and their SLW2 closure system to name a few.

Stack height/sole thickness and cleat bolts

If the stack height is as low low/the sole as thin as Northwave claim, what's the compatibility like with Shimano SPD-SL cleat bolts? Do they (the shoes) need/come with shorter bolts,? Or are normal length bolts OK?

Premium cycling tights for the highest levels of insulation and comfort in cold winter conditions. With a fleecy, elastic Lombardia Fabric construction and a Tour Seatpad, Vaeon Pro Tights are essential for dedicated year-round road cyclists.

Falling between S and M

Hi,

If I'm a 36" (S) chest, a 31" (S) waist and 5'7" height (M)...AND...I find the similarly-sized Aeron Pro bib shorts in S on their limit (but perhaps a little too tight around the thights), would a M be OK, or a touch on the baggy side everywhere else?

Cheers,

Clincher version of the Pavè CG tubular, hand-made "open tubular" construction.

Is this the Open Pave for 2013?

Prior to 2013, the only Open Pave was the 700x24 CG Evo, with the central green band.
For 2013, the Open Pave CG (no Evo in the name) is listed by Vittoria as being available in 700x25 or 700x27 sizes, with the green bands on the shoulders.
Given this is listed as 700x25 and the green bands are the same, is it safe to assume that this the newer, 2013 Open Pave?
Additionally, will Wiggle be stocking the 700x27mm version?
Thanks!
