"I'm not the slickest tyre changer around, but got fed up the day I snapped 2 different plastic tyre levers and a baby spoon....bought these little beauties and found them pretty good. Small enough to fit into saddlebag / back pockets with ease. Only niggle is that they aren't able to clip onto the spokes but actually that's not particularly needed. Possibly a little expensive - but much cheaper than buying repeated sets of plastic levers!"
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive

 Mezcal MTB Tyre
Mezcal MTB Tyre
Great cornering and fast rolling dry weather tyre. The Geax Mezcal gives everything one would expect from a semi-slick tyre, but has been designed to deliver good performance also on more difficult trail conditions and steeper slopes.

"Good value tyres, changed them from my old Specialized MTB ones as they are a bit better on the asphalt. Seem pretty good on the lower-stress trails too. A little prone to skidding if braking quickly but I suppose that may be a failure of riding style too! Difficult to get off the rim for changing tubes but aluminium levers help."

"Not a bad addition to the winter wear, but fairly expensive for what is after all a tube of material. Gets a bit whiffy (maybe I'm just a bit of a sweaty minger but there you go) fairly quickly but rinses and dries quickly."

"Wanted something the right size for commute / short rides, and this fits the bill. Comfortable fit and enough pockets for odds and ends and the side pouches will take a fair bit as well as the main compartment. Not too fussed about the helmet hold feature of the front cover. Would point out that as an added bonus there's space for a (2 litre I think) bladder and tube which is not mentioned on the spec, handy feature which is unusual at this price."

"Looks good, fits well, seems like it will be good in the warm on its own or with a base layer if colder - however: zip seems of pretty cheap / flimsy quality, has stuck already and as my old mum used to say if the zip goes it's had it....Time will tell..."
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: dodgy zip?

"Can't argue with the weight, ease of fitting or the beam strength ("bright" is an understatement) and field. However shortly after getting this it developed a fault - rather than switching on and off it would only switch between bright and slightly-less-bright. Returning it but will be happy with a replacement rather than a refund. It is pretty expensive but I guess better spending £50 on a light than a trip to A+E...!"

"My first pair of cleat pedals. Solid and reliable as far as I can tell and seem pretty good value to me. Only comment I would make is make sure you loosen the bindings almost completely prior to locking-in then tighten up gradually: almost impossible to unlock at the setting supplied initially. After adjustment though far easier to get the hang of than anticipated.
Overall would definitely recommend.

Amazing low priced SPD pedal for all round use including tough freeride and off-road use

Will these pedals and clips fit my cycle shoes

I received the dhb M1 cycle shoes for xmas. Can you advise if the following Pedal and cleats will be best for my shoes:

Shimano M424 SPD Pedals; and
Shimano SPD MTB Cleats.

In respect of cleats 'I am a novice', should I have Multi Release or Standard Release?

Many Thanks
Pete
I also have dhb shoes and am a cleat "novice", bought the M424 pedals and they are great so far. Would have thought standard release would suit you best initially. Only thing I would say is make sure you slacken off the bindings significantly before you try locking-in otherwise you might struggle to unlock (I had to take my foot out of the shoe still attached to the pedal...)
