Value for money dual sided SPD pedal, a favorite XC mountain bike pedal. Super-compact and lightweight design for a multitude of cycling uses. Sealed cartridge bearing spindle keeps out water and mud for a smooth action, and makes for a durable pedal.

"Fitted these three days ago. easy to fit, worked with existing cleats on shoes, so now have a spare pair of cleats.
were quite stiff to release when I went for a test ride. have now loosened them one whole turn on the adjuster, still stiffer than my old single sided ones but am confident I can get out in an emergency. Note that these have single release mode (i.e. twist out) but this has given me more confidence to pull up on pedal on the return stroke when accelerating.
Not superlight but as i said good value.

Do these pedals come with the standard MTB cleats?

I have a pair of Izumi Pearl MTB shoes with cleats shown in the picture attached. Will these pedals be compatible with my shoes and cleats, and do they come with their own cleats?

They do come with cleats although these will eventually wear (as they are supposed to) and need replacing. From the photo it looks as if your cleats will also work with the pedals.

Are Shimano PD-M520 pedals ok for a road bike?

I'm completely new to the world of cycling and have bought myself a second hand bike which comes with Shimano PD-M520 pedals. Appears that these are for a mountain bike - am i ok with these on my road bike? And will the cleats fit road shoes ok - when I'm brave enough to give them a go?
Many thanks
I use these pedals on my road bike with road SPD cleats and they are absolutely fine. I commute 24miles a day in trafic with traffic lights, grime and lots of stops. no problems yet.
