Value for money dual sided SPD pedal, a favorite XC mountain bike pedal. Super-compact and lightweight design for a multitude of cycling uses. Sealed cartridge bearing spindle keeps out water and mud for a smooth action, and makes for a durable pedal.

"Great pedals, now have a set on all three bikes so no shoe compatibility issues.
Use happily on my mountain bike on the trails and hills, on the road bike for 60+ mile rides and the daily commute bike in all weather. Never had any issues, easy to setup, very reliable and sheds mud well.
Pedals can be tightened using 6mm allen key, so no need for pedal spanner.
Definately recommend to anyone."
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable

Are Shimano PD-M520 pedals ok for a road bike?

I'm completely new to the world of cycling and have bought myself a second hand bike which comes with Shimano PD-M520 pedals. Appears that these are for a mountain bike - am i ok with these on my road bike? And will the cleats fit road shoes ok - when I'm brave enough to give them a go?
Many thanks
I have a set of Shimano PD-M520's on both my mountain bike and road bike. The cleats are not compatible with road shoes. I happily use my mountain bike shoes on the road bike (Specialised BG Sport) and never had any problems.
